Tourism is an important industry intended for Malaysia, and home-stay holiday accommodation businesses perform a significant position in assisting the success of the tourism sector. The aim of this paper should be to analyse the start-up motivation factors and business challenges for home-stay accommodation businesses. The data were gathered by a review of 1250 home-stay entrepreneurs in the country which has a usable response rate of (n sama dengan 853) or perhaps 68. twenty-four per cent was achieved, and was analysed descriptively. To get more in-depth knowledge of the trend, interviews with selected thirty five home-stay lodging entrepreneurs were conducted. It absolutely was found that the main motives of home-stay entrepreneurs will vary to those of small- and medium-sized corporations (SMEs) business in other groups. The identiп¬Ѓcation of mindset factors from this study gives a clearer bank account of what actually motivates entrepreneurs to ventures in to home-stay holiday accommodation businesses вЂ“ an below researched region. The newspaper propose a revised model of motivations factors of home-stay accommodation business owners, which contains two unique sets of push and pull factors вЂ“ the one that applies to the entrepreneurs of SMEs in other industry and one relates to entrepreneurs in home-stay lodging tourism industry. The data as well present the effect of several important business issues in this exclusive niche sector such as insufficient service orientation, lack of establishments, safety matter, competition with incompliance unregistered home-stay providers and difп¬Ѓcult to maintain the best levels of cleanness. In addition to developing the idea on home-stay accommodation businesses, the п¬Ѓndings of this conventional paper will have relevance for plan making and supportive measures at the national or local government levels to create an environment that will stimulate the competitiveness of SMEs in home-stay lodging businesses inside their attempts for people who do buiness growth and key technique for economic improvement.

1 . Introduction
The tourism sector in Malaysia has observed a robust growth in recent years. Without a doubt, the travel industry is becoming an important way to obtain revenue and contributes to lasting development pertaining to Malaysia's economic climate (Tenth Malaysia Plan, 2011вЂ“2015, 2011). Malaysia Government recognizes tourism among the main companies of employment, a key forex trading earner, leading to economic growth, attracting investments as well as conditioning the services accounts of the stability of repayments (Ninth Malaysia Plan, 2006вЂ“2010). In 2011, holiday arrivals improved by 137, 128 to 24, 714, 324 compared to 24, 577, 196 completely, while receipts increased by RM1. 8bil to RM58. 3bil when compared with RM56. 5bil the previous yr (The Star Online, 2012).
